DE: Studentin Mei verpasst die Beerdigung ihres geliebten Grossvaters. Auf Google Earth durchstreift sie die Strassen Hongkongs auf der Suche nach seinen Spuren. Als sie sich jäh in der Kartenwelt wiederfindet, hofft sie auf eine Möglichkeit, sich doch noch zu verabschieden.
EN: Student Mei misses the funeral of her beloved grandfather. On Google Earth, she roams the streets of Hong Kong in search of traces of him. When she suddenly finds herself immersed in the map world, she hopes for a chance to say goodbye after all.
FR: L'étudiante Mei manque les funérailles de son grand-père bien-aimé. Sur Google Earth, elle parcourt les rues de Hong Kong à la recherche de ses traces. Lorsqu'elle se retrouve soudainement immergée dans le monde des cartes, elle espère avoir une dernière chance de lui dire adieu.

DE: Alles Gute hat ein Ende. Erwachsenwerden bedeutet auch, sich ans Abschiednehmen zu gewöhnen. Beim Erkunden meiner Heimat in Google Earth folge ich den Spuren geliebter, bereits verstorbener Menschen – daraus entstand die Idee zu diesem Film. Die Geschichte spielt in Hongkong, wo viele meiner Kindheitserinnerungen verankert sind. Zentral ist der Versuch, jemandem näherzukommen, den man nicht mehr erreichen kann. Obwohl ich fern von meiner Kindheit bin, suche ich filmisch nach Orten, an denen gemeinsame Erinnerungen weiterleben. Der Film ist ein Andenken an Menschen, von denen ich mich nicht verabschieden konnte – denen ich meine Liebe zu spät gezeigt habe.

EN: All good things come to an end. Growing up also means learning to say goodbye. While exploring my hometown on Google Earth, I follow the traces of loved ones who have passed away – and from that, the idea for this film was born. The story takes place in Hong Kong, a city filled with memories from my childhood. At its core, the film is about trying to reach someone who is no longer there. Though far from my past, I use film to revisit places where our shared memories still live on. This project is a tribute to those I couldn't say goodbye to – to those I loved too late.

FR:Tout ce qui est bon a une fin. Grandir, c’est aussi apprendre à faire ses adieux. En explorant ma terre natale sur Google Earth, je suis les traces de personnes aimées, aujourd’hui disparues – c’est ainsi qu’est née l’idée de ce film. L’histoire se déroule à Hong Kong, là où sont ancrés de nombreux souvenirs de mon enfance. Elle tourne autour d’une tentative : se rapprocher de quelqu’un qui n’est plus atteignable. Bien que je sois éloigné de mon enfance, je pars, par le biais du cinéma, à la recherche de lieux où les souvenirs partagés peuvent encore exister. Ce film est un hommage à celles et ceux que je n’ai pas pu saluer une dernière fois – à ceux à qui j’ai montré mon amour trop tard.
