The MoPA
is located in Arles, in the Provence in the south of France. It was once part of Supinfocom (now RUBIKA), and was founded in the year 2000. In 2015, "Supinfocom Arles" became "MoPA", and now offers its own independent curriculum and graduation programme as well as a fast-track programme for international students.
For historical reasons, MoPA starts out their education using 3DSMax, and only transition to Maya at the end of their 3rd year (there are 5 years in total to their studies). They find that it's useful to change software once as a student because the industry will demand them to keep learning and re-learning software once they're out in the field. Exchange students can, however enter the school with only knowledge of Maya and pick up 3DSMax once they're there, or try applying for the higher Maya years at MoPA with a strong CGI portfolio.
