EMCA (L'Ecole des Métiers du Cinéma d'Animation) is an animation school located in the mid-west of France. The building is located right next to a comic museum (sic!). The main focuses at EMCA are Art Design and Animation. Similar to the HSLU, all students learn a minimum of basic stop-motion, 2D and 3D techniques before choosing their track in the third year. Their course goes for a full 5 years, you can imagine it as the Bachelor and Master being combined into one long course, where the two first years are full of general artistic education leading up to the last three years in which they produce a short film every year. They lay a strong emphasis on production pipelines for film and series, with many teachers working actively in the industry themselves.

There are very cheap housing and meal options for students close by the school.

Please note:

Specialties: art design, artistic short films

Course language: French
