Giulia Martinelli
Giulia is an animation director based in Zurich.
She was born in 1990 in Italy, and before discovering animation she has been studying foreign languages and translation.
She graduated in 2016 from CSC Animazione with her multi-award winning short film Merlot, and she's been freelancing ever since, as an animator, and animation director. In 2018 she moved to Zurich, Switzerland, where she currently works and lives. In 2021 her first Swiss-produced film was done: Marea.
Since 2022 Giulia has been teaching animation, online (Skillshare) and locally.
In 2023 the podcast Under the Onion Skin was created: a series of informal conversations with animation directors during festivals.
She is currently enrolled part-time at the Master Animation HSLSU Design & Kunst, and developing a short film and a series.
