The Animation Workshop (TAW) is located in Viborg, Denmark. It is a part of VIA University College’s School of Business, Technology and Creative Industries and has expertise in the areas of education, culture, communication and business development. It benefits from a strong international network of artists, professionals, companies, funding institutions and partner schools. It offers exchanges in form of individual courses as well as entire semesters. TAW also offers professional courses (course costs cannot be covered by HSLU) that usually take 1-2 months, such as a Houdini&VFX, Storyboard, Visual Effects etc...
Viborg is the animation hotspot of Denmark not just because of TAW's good reputation but also because of it's proximity to the professional industry; around the school's campus, many students set up shop for their very own animation studios & collectives, while the neighbouring more established studios also frequently headhunt graduating students.
Attention: The Animation Workshop only admits exchange students if there is a seat free in their own courses! A parallel application to a 2nd-choice-school is highly recommended if you want to get an exchange. Although TAW-exchange students pay the regular HSLU semester fee, TAW also requires a course-material fee of 1'200 Euro which are not covered by the HSLU.
Specialties: Character animation (CGI & 2D), character design, CG Arts, drawing skills
