Laura Kohler
I'm Laura Kohler and I'm 27 years old.
My wobbly strokes and distorted proportions are an integral part of my work. "Ordinary" everyday situations and the imperfect inspire me. Ordinary in quotation marks and endings, because nothing is actually ordinary. Every moment brings something new, even if it seems ordinary.
I am moved by authenticity. Sounds very cheesy, but that's the way it is. A work that is allowed to develop as it pleases and doesn't have to be polished to perfection. I like the raw and direct. In my work, I usually start with random sketches and let myself be guided by what feels good. I am always amazed at where it ultimately takes me.
I am a 2D animator with further interests in storyboarding, concept art and sound design. During the last year in my bachelor at HSLU I worked on my analog 2D movie In Tune.
