Bio
Manfei was born in Hong Kong and moved to Bern at the age of 12. She is a Swiss-based animator and illustrator of Chinese–Hong Kong origin. Art has always been her passion, which naturally led her to pursue formal studies in the field. She graduated in July 2022 with a Bachelor’s degree in 2D Animation from the Lucerne School of Art & Design & Film, where she co-directed her BA film <Memories of Monsoon> alongside her teammates. In 2025, she completed her Master's in Film Animation with her graduation film <The Taste of Pineapple Bread>. Manfei infuses her work with a poetic sensibility, often portraying a naïve, childlike aesthetic that embraces freedom and playfulness.
