Timeline

Check all important dates on the BA Examination Timeline.

Required Records

Projects missing these deadlines will not be accepted for the final exam.

Presentation version of project

Check the BA Examination Timeline until when you have to upload your Project to the server (folder will be communicated by the ASO) including English Subtitles according to the Project Submission guidelines.

AniWiki entries complete

Check the BA Examination Timeline until when you have to add all information about yourself and your films made at this school to our aniwiki.

Presentation slides

Check the BA Examination Timeline until when you have to upload your BA presentation (as Powerpoint or Keynote file) to the server under:

projects -> _2023-24_3BA_Projektordner -> 09_presentation file -> NameOfYourFilm

At your presentation in front of the Jury, we will use exactly this file. Make sure to test it beforehand on another computer to see that all video / audio files work there, too.

BA Presentations and Jury

Check the BA Examination Timeline when the presentations in front of the jury in the REX cinema ( Room 045 ) are held. The jury members usually are Jürgen Haas, Kat Woodtli, ____(tba) and an external juror. The presentation of the projects can be held in German or English depending on the external jury member.

You are allowed to choose one practical criteria (i.e. animation, story, character design, editing, post-production etc...) and one presentation criteria (free speaking, structure of presentation, technical knowledge transferral, graphic layout of presentation slides etc...) of your choice to help boost your results. See timetable below for the deadlines of naming both criteria.

Werkschau

Check the BA Examination Timeline when and where the Werkschau takes place. The vernissage usually starts on a Friday at 18:00 (CET). Responsible for the coordination is the artistic assistant .

Premiere Night!

Check the BA Examination Timeline when the premiere of all the graduation projects will take place at the Cinema Maxx, Emmenbrücke, followed by an aperitif. Students receive a fixed number of guest invites from our artistic assistant, who will coordinate the event.

Diploma Ceremony

Check the BA Examination Timeline when the diplomas will be given to you on ___________ (tbc) at the Messe Luzern. The invitations will be sent to you from the offices of Hochschule Luzern.

After graduation

Final film files

Check the BA Examination Timeline when you have to upload all files according to the Project Submission to the server. The location will be communicated a week in advance.

In addition: zip the following files, give the zip a logical name and copy it to the same folder as the film above.

6 Stills
a picture of the filmmakers
a short biography of the filmmakers and the synopsis of the film in German and English in a plain text file
a list of the credits in a plain text (Stop-Motion Films receive a separate date for completing their final film files according to Sounddesign/Mixing dates)

Trailers

Check the BA Examination Timeline until when you havve to upload the trailers (max. 45 seconds) of your films to the server (Folder will be communicated by ASO)

The trailer will be uploaded to our vimeo site and can be linked to your vimeo account. You can upload you entire film after it has done its first round of important festivals (usually about a year) to your platform of choice. Please create a link to our site as the producer of your film.
