Revision as of 19:06, 29 January 2022

As part of my Master’s degree at HSLU D&K (Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts), I’m currently directing a short animation film and a series of videos where dance and movements are dialoguing with nature in a symbiosis. Using 3D laser scanning and motion capture technologies, I’m playing with limits, here is the preview!

I’m also working on the conceptual, technological and aesthetic research of a long term collaborative project in applied design, conducted by Christina Zimmermann and supported by the SNF (Swiss National Science Foundation). The transdisciplinary project is a digital archive of the work of the theorist Siegfried Kracauer, exploring new and more inclusive ways of visualizing and accessing scientific and artistic research.

While using technology as a creative tool, I question its role in seeking for an immaculate and photorealistic representation of the world for our memorial and sensorial perception, and how technology may encourage a form of consumption and overconsumption of nature, a nature that we threaten without any limits.

Where are the limits of digitalization, and where are our limits…

Film limites

Logline (or short synopsis):

In a forest that he digitized, Simon runs.

Synopsis / Summary / Résumé

  • EN: In a forest that he digitized, Simon runs.

Within an autobiographical narrative, running embodies the intimate link between the protagonist and the forest, a forest that has witnessed a multitude of personal events and that is now being destroyed by a gravel pit. Immersed in an ambivalent world between realism and dream, Simon questions the reasons that pushed him to digitize the forest. He questions his relationship with the living world and the limits of digital representations of nature.
