The Programme

The MA Animation programme is a project-based study and centred around the individual projects of the studens. Animation projects can be:

production of an animated short film
a concept for a longer animation format, e.g. a series or a feature film, including the production of a trailer
an explorative project or expanded animation project, e.g. a research project, or an installation using animation.

Mentoring by guest teachers and in-house lectureres and coaching are individual and growing parts of the programme. We specialise in storytelling and the development of individual and personal styles and stories, close to the animation scene and animation industry in Switzerland.

-The programme of the MA Film can be put together individually by the students in some modules. Some parts of our teaching are clustered into Tracks. Students chose those tracks to specialize in their studies in a certain field (Film Financing; Self-Marketing; Expanded Cinema). The Fachmodule and the Exchangemodule have a list of free elective courses from which the necessary number of units to pass the module can be generated. Those courses are both provided by the MA Film and partly from other study programmes of the Lucerne University of the Arts.
